[ The interrogation went as well as could be expected. When Castiel wanted answers, he got them by any means possible, and while it was true that he was - by definition - an angel, the reality of his species was all ruthless efficiency. Angels weren't just halos and wings, weren't prayers answered and miracles performed. Angels were the soldiers of Heaven, and soldiers...soldiers did things during war that they weren't proud of, but which were absolutely necessary.

Castiel had done some of those things today, but now, shelving the experience, he turned himself toward his next meeting, one that followed a text conversation had hours before. It involved something a little different to his usual evenings, and yet the promise - the invitation - of learning something new about that thing that mystified him most about the human condition, sex, drew him as though it were infinitely as important as any other task on his to-do list.

Castiel did pause to wash the blood from his hands, even though he was rather sure the trickster would have appreciated the gesture reversed. There was just something about appearing in an undisclosed location, bloodied to the elbows, that had a way of unsettling innocent passers by.

The hotel where he sought Loki out was unfamiliar, but that wasn't surprising; unless they were hunting a particular spirit, the Winchesters stuck to their chain motels, their repetitive, monochromatic rooms. This was different. This was better. The bar was elegant, but at least two of the women prowling about the occupants of the stools were here on business, not for pleasure. Daddy issues; they were here to be paid. So, assuming they stayed, there'd probably be no concern about the noise.

Castiel turned on the spot, sticking out like a sore thumb in the middle of the room, but unnoticed, unacknowledged, by the people around him. Maybe this was the wrong place...

[Loki wasn't supposed to be on Midgard.

No, the All-Father had given his orders centuries ago when he decided that it was time for Asgard to stay out of human affairs. Thor and his friends seemed content enough to obey while Loki simply discovered hidden paths between the realms and utilized those for travel, masking himself from the gatekeeper Heimdall's gaze in the process.

Tonight he had sought out a fancy hotel in Las Vegas, a place where morals ran loose and two men getting up to some exceptionally deviant activities would hardly be given a second thought even if they were noticed. He had dressed himself in black pants and a dark blue button down shirt for the occasion, hair slicked back as usual and a suitcase with various 'materials' housed inside.

He noticed the angel's arrival first, smirking to himself at how lost and out of place he looked standing there in the bar.

This was going to be fun.

Loki approached Castiel casually, stepping around a few other patrons in the process. He felt comfortable enough in such a setting, had even booked a room already and had a few drinks while he waited. All in all, the trickster was in good spirits when he finally settled at Cas' side.]

There you are. I'm glad you could make it.

[ Comfort was something Castiel lacked, especially surrounded by so many lively people. They made him uncomfortable, so free and easy with themselves and each other, and yet every one of them preoccupied, most of them sinners. Their souls, all around him, they made him uncomfortable, pressing in, suffocating, full of wants and desires and guilt and pain. It was an adjustment, and it slowed him down.

Slowed him down enough for Loki to catch up with him, find him in the center of the room with all the slick confidence that Castiel had come to expect, not just from him, but any of the lesser gods that occasioned to prowl the Earth.

Castiel shook off his uncertainty as he was addressed. The people here didn't matter - he wasn't here for them - but Loki on the other hand. Loki deserved his full attention, and within moments he had it.

Loki looked casual, confident--everything that Castiel in his button down shirt - no tie - and trenchcoat wasn't. In fact, if anything, he looked like he belonged here. Not surprising, considering the kind of people in the hotel bar. He tipped his head in acknowledgement.
]

I said I would come. [ Seemed obvious to him. Now he waited for Loki to make the first move, or somehow indicate what he should be doing with himself. ]

[Las Vegas was certainly a comfortable place for someone who had built a reputation on trickery, mischief and lies. Sinners were much more entertaining than saints, and Loki knew this city was swarming with demons as he'd met several during previous visits. They tended to be up for a good time if not otherwise tending to their duties, but tonight Loki was in the market for something new.

He shot Castiel a charming smile before grabbing one of his hands and leading him toward the elevator. Nobody bothered them with a second glance as they passed through the bar and line of slot machines near the back.]

I know you did. I have a room prepared for us.

[Loki called for the lift, then lowered his hand back down to the handle of his suitcase. He didn't know just how much of what he'd brought they would use- certainly there was a variety of toys to choose from.

The biggest challenge, he suspected, would be helping the angel loosen up. It was a challenge he was fully prepared to tackle, even if it might take some time. Sometimes patience led to the greatest rewards.]

How... Proactive.

[ Loki had a room prepared. That really didn't surprise him, and yet what a relief! Had it been Castiel that had arrived here first, it wouldn't have occurred to him. A room... A room made perfect sense. A room in which to conduct their sordid, iniquitous affair.

Fortunately they were quickly on the move, although it had to be said that if having his hand held so boldly unsettled him more, then who knew how he'd deal with more. Maybe it was just the room, the atmosphere of the place, the company. He'd relax at least a little when they were alone, and so Castiel cast a glower at the lift, mentally rushing it down through the numbers.

The very second the door opened, Castiel was inside, returning the grip on his hand with - if nothing else - enough force to encourage his companion to join him inside.

He didn't let go. In fact, as he stepped in, he turned, and the look he offered had moved from terrified to smouldering in no time at all; the privacy of the elevator car saw to that.
]

Well? What are you waiting for?

[ Castiel was many things, but he'd never had reason to believe that "deviant" was one of them, and yet his last brush with Loki had taught him so much about himself--things he dearly appreciated learning. Since being brought back - new and improved - he hadn't yet had a chance to reach out to him; there was so much to do, clearing up after Winchesters and trying to make sense of the world he'd been thrust back into, but it was true that dying, being ripped to pieces by Raphael and then thrown back together by God, had given him a new perspective. He could be ended at any moment, the apocalypse was on the way, and he hadn't yet experienced everything he wanted to experience.

He's taken Dean's pendant--it hung around his neck now, but its use was his new obsession. He was going to find God, after all, or at least, he was going to try.

And that was why, little over a week after he'd set off searching, his frustrations had mounted beyond his own angelic comprehension. He'd never been so driven and so...helpless, before. Finding God? How could he have ever imagined that it was something that he could do? He was just a lowly angel, and his Father was...impenetrable. Perhaps he'd never be good enough; even the archangels hadn't seen God in millennia, if Raphael was to be believed. Castiel didn't know how to actually handle his disappointment and frustration. He didn't have an outlet.

He called Loki, arranged a time, but he didn't consider why. Only when he was standing in the elegant honeymoon suite of a Tampa hotel, a few hours later, did he start to doubt himself, wonder what he even wanted. A repeat performance? why? He stared at the door, waiting for the knock.

[Loki hadn't lingered on Earth very long after the conclusion of his 'meeting' with Castiel. Already breaking the All-Father's law by spending time there in the first place, he knew he had to keep his visits brief unless he wished his transgression to be noticed and his activities to be scrutinized to an uncomfortable degree thereafter. Next time, he promised himself while sitting at his desk and flipping through a large tome on Midgardian religion, he would come up with an excuse to be absent for a longer period of time.

Next time came when he received a new call from Castiel requesting they meet again. Despite how well they'd gotten on the first time, Loki hadn't been certain the angel would want to see him again. In addition, thanks to his conversation with Sam Winchester, he was aware that there was quite the battle brewing on Midgard, one that he'd offered his help with should the hunter call upon him again.

Everything built into a strong feeling of anticipation that excited him, making the wait for any sort of contact that much more unbearable. As a result, he was more than happy to agree to meet Castiel as soon as he liked. He packed a bag with items similar to their first encounter just in case they were wanted, made excuses to his father about a journey elsewhere in search of special herbs, and then took his favorite secret path to Earth.

Not long after he was standing outside the hotel room where he and Cas had agreed to meet. To blend in with the general populace of the area he wore a pair of bluejeans and a casual, button down navy blue shirt. A pair of sunglasses rested atop his head, his hair slightly windswept as if he'd just stepped in from a day at the beach.

He gave the door three quick raps with his knuckles and then waited for a response.]

[ Truly, Castiel didn't do inconspicuous well. He'd had to learn most of the details from watching the Winchesters, and learning their habits, and so he understood that if you wanted use of a room you had to get the key, and have the room signed over to you in the database. Castiel stole all the keys to the room and whammied the computer, which at once served the same purpose without ever having to produce an American Express card.

He was also particularly awful at the actual blending in, which was why when he opened the door - telekinetically, still stand in the middle of the room - he was, surprise, still wearing the same trenchcoat and suit that Loki had met him in last time. The differential temperature in Florida no more bothered him than the chill of the desert after dark.

Loki, he noticed, looked so effortlessly human, that Castiel envied him. And he wondered...what if God was as good at blending in as Loki was? Would he ever find him?

Determinedly, Castiel shook his head. He wasn't going to think about God right now. Except he couldn't help himself. Everything that was happening... People were going to die, his brothers were already killing each other, and God could prevent it, stop it--he just didn't want to. Loki would take his mind off it, surely? Castiel had no understanding that he needed to vent his feelings of betrayal and frustration, but that was why he was here.

Well, that and his unexpected desire, once he laid eyes on Loki again. It was his turn. He drew the black scarf from his pocket, where he'd been keeping it, lifting it into the air in front of him.
]

Come here. [ The door would close behind him, just the same way that it opened. ] And kneel in front of me.

[When the door opened a few moments later, Loki wore a hint of a smile as he observed Castiel standing in the center of the room, dressed in the same manner as during their first meeting. How many non-humans actually tried to blend in properly? Demons often did, he noticed, but they really had little choice otherwise. Loki did so partially to remain under the radar and partially to test his skills as human societies changed rapidly. Could he keep up? Not only in appearance, but with major events and communication?

The last one still gave him grief since he relied on the all-speak to understand other languages, which made it exceedingly difficult to make sure his words came out properly.

That day, Loki thought he'd done a marvelous job playing the mortal. He was almost about to say so out loud when his eyes caught sight of that familiar scarf, and then all he could think of was the demanding words and strict tone.

Oh. That was interesting.]

Yes, Sir. [That smile lingered on his lips as he spoke the title as Castiel had done for him, though his words came in a distinctly more playful manner. Loki approached where Cas stood, casually plucking the sunglasses from the top of his head and placing them on the ground next to his bag. He then lowered himself to his knees, hands resting on his thighs as he waited for further instructions.]

[ Something was different, Castiel thought. There had been an easiness to Loki's authority, but even now Castiel seemed to struggle to get quite the same level of respect. He'd learned, though, from Loki, and since they'd last met. Having to become independent, resist everything that he'd thought he'd once knew... He fought his brothers now, and there was a harder edge to him as a consequence.

He channeled all of that down into his actions, summoned all of the ferocity and command he had in himself--which was plenty, thank you very much, and used it.

Quietly Castiel reached down, trailing the silk cloth across Loki's brow, letting it fall to his shoulder, before dragging it up toward his throat. His other hand moved to join the first, tying the silk cloth in place around Loki's neck, before bringing his hand back up, patting him gently on the head.
]

Open your bag. Lay it flat in front of you. Do nothing else. Touch nothing. When you're done, cross your wrists behind your back.

[ It couldn't be said that Castiel learned slowly. He was more than suited to authority himself, and while it was clear that he preferred orders, in his own way, he was an angel, a being of great power and wrath, and unlike many of his brothers and sisters more than capable of holding his own. ]

For Angelfire

[Not many citizens of Asgard wandered around the thick woods far beyond the outskirts of the Golden City. The hunters and fishers tended not to stray so far, though on occasion the odd hunting party might be found exploring further than usual in hopes of finding a rare beast or simply enjoying an extended camping trip.

Loki's purposes for wandering so far from the city were somewhat less innocent.

He had taken off two days ago in search of hidden pathways between the realms, a hobby he'd developed after Odin began enforcing much stricter rules about inter-realm travel via the Bifrost. Those rules applied doubly so for his sons, and mostly involved the need for approved company or escorts, which was absolutely unacceptable when one's needs were already a tad shady.

Loki knew he would likely suffer a lecture for disappearing as he did. As he saw it, being chastised by his parents was a small price to pay for the benefits of his research.

The canopy of trees blocked out a good deal of the sunlight shining over the realm, leaving the prince to enjoy the relief of shade. He reached for his waterskin and opened the top before realizing he'd run out of water. But, no matter- there was a freshwater pond just ahead.

Loki weaved his way through a thick copse of trees, only slowing down when he noticed something decidedly odd about the area. Not far off a few trees were cracked in the center and leaning outward, while the ground rose upward as though an impact of some sort had happened not long ago. The pond forgotten for the moment, he crept toward that area and nearly stumbled backward when he saw someone lying right in the center of the small crater in the ground.

Someone or something. The being had a pair of slight singed wings but otherwise looked as though he could be a warrior of Asgard with his long, blond hair and golden armor. Where in the Nine Realms had he come from? Loki exhaled a breath before slowly advancing toward the unconscious man, hardly able to see his face with that hair in the way, and squatted down beside him. A compulsion had him running a hand over the top of one of his wings.]

[ Just for a moment, he'd been holding his ground, standing with his head up in defiance against his brother, sword raised, and then it was as though he'd been grabbed tight, lifted bodily, and thrown down through the clouds. He'd tumbled, but not to Earth. As he fell, he saw the ground come up toward him, saw the great palace of Asgard, and he tumbled--crashed, wrapping his wings tight around himself as he went. An archangel, there were six of these, but four of them burned away before the ground came up to meet him.

Surviving the fall almost took everything out of him. Lucifer lost consciousness, he didn't know for how long, but he lay there until the cold of the earth had soaked into him, and then a touch to his wing make him stir. He shivered, and his wings shook briefly, the feathers rustling together.

Someone was there. Someone crouched beside him. Someone touching him. Lucifer's instinct took control, and he threw himself over onto his back, wings spread wide beneath him, and drew his sword, raising it up toward the man beside him, his eyes wide. On the ground, shaking from effort and pain, Lucifer stared up at Loki.

[Loki fell back on his behind with a startled cry when the unconscious man suddenly awoke, rolling over and pointing a sword at him. He grabbed at the handle of one of his knives sheathed at his belt, but didn't move to draw.

No, that question left room for the possibility that this did not need to become a violent encounter. Frankly, Loki preferred it that way. He knew nothing about this odd, winged man, and had no idea if he could defeat him.]

Friend, I hope.

[Especially after having a good look at that handsome face. Suddenly he was reminded of the tales he'd read as a child, where the prince finds a beautiful lost princess while on a journey and marries her after slaying a ferocious beast.

...Well, this wasn't exactly that as this was no princess and there were no beasts around. Still.]

I am Loki Odinson. Who are you and how did you come to be in such a state?

[ It was fortunate that Lucifer didn't have to fight his way out of this. Though he'd have done so with every ounce of strength in his body, there were very few such ounces left, and even holding his head up, never mind the sword, was an unbearable effort. His wings, which had arched in challenge, wilted soon enough, touching the floor, then falling the rest of the way, drooping like dead petals. Lucifer, who'd come up balanced on hands and feet, let his knee take his own weight, though to his great pride he kept his sword up regardless, his eyes fixed on the stranger.

Odinson? The son of Odin? Then this was Asgard, and he had fallen... He hadn't fallen to Earth, but to a realm of gods. Could he even reveal himself here? Would he be seen as a challenge, a rival? An enemy? A potential ally?
]

I was... I was cast out. [ He admitted. Friend, he'd said. He hoped? Lucifer didn't know if he wanted any friendship with lesser gods, for there was only one God that mattered to him, only one he loved, no matter how jilted and miserable he felt at this moment. And yet he had fallen here. He was weak. He could die in this wilderness. Whether he liked it or not, a friend was exactly what he needed. ]

My name is Lucifer. I'm... [ An archangel. ] An angel. That's all. [ That's all. ]

Ah! I thought you might be.

[He bounced a little on the balls of his feet, smiling with obvious excitement. Loki hadn't wanted to make any assumptions since he'd never seen an angel before, only heard and read about them. As far as he knew, he would never meet one in person.

Now he was more pleased than ever that he'd decided to go out on this trip. Assuming Lucifer would stop pointing that deadly looking sword his way.]

You couldn't have found a much better place to be cast out, honestly.

[He could only imagine that other Asgardians would be pleased to meet an angel as well. Undoubtedly he would be allowed to stay at the palace, as such a rare 'visitor' deserved special hospitality.]

You can lower you blade. I want to help you.

[After discovering that Castiel was interested in more than just a few romps in the bedroom and actually sought an exclusive relationship of sorts, Loki decided that it was finally time to bring him to Asgard to meet his friends and family. After all, while he was the sort to keep many secrets, he didn't particularly enjoy hiding something he took pride in, and who wouldn't like to show off their angel lover? As far as he knew, no angels had set foot on Asgard since before his birth. That made this visit quite the unique one.

Since Loki was not supposed to be visiting Midgard at that time, he arranged to meet Castiel in Vanaheim and travel back to Asgard via Bifrost from there. That was where they were to say they had met. He might want to show Cas off, but he didn't wish to be caught sneaking around secret passages to realms closed off by the All-Father's orders. No, Vanaheim was a decent enough lie, and Heimdall opened the Bifrost for him as usual.

They made the trek along the rainbow bridge toward the palace, receiving stares as they went through town. As a prince, Loki often drew attention wherever he went. Castiel's wardrobe certainly amplified the effect significantly.

No matter. He was more than happy to draw their stares.]

I really think the best advice I can give you for this meeting is to show everyone a good deal of respect. Even Thor, though you might prefer to slam his face into a wall.

[Surely nobody would object to Castiel if he was respectful? This initial introduction was simply the barest formality of meeting, and more intense discussions would occur later, during meals. What could go wrong?]

[ Slamming anyone's face into a wall didn't seem like something Castiel would do, even if provoked, and yet he listened keenly to Loki's advice, hoping against hope that it got them through this whole thing. He'd rarely felt so very uncertain about something, and while he cared about Loki in no uncertain terms, this trip to Asgard could only lead to trouble. The Asgardians were unpredictable--there was a reason why no angel had ever visited the realm before.

But he wanted to believe them better, wanted to believe that they'd become more civilized, as Earth - Midgard - had grown. He wanted this trip to be a success for Loki's sake, and so he accepted his partner's efforts to dress him in something appropriate, because his trenchcoat was no more suitable for Vanaheim as their eventual destination. Anything he could do to acclimatize himself, fit in, even if the dragonscale blue gleam of the outfit seemed almost too bright, in Castiel's opinion. The sculpted collar framed his face, and the rest of the clothes under the cape coat resembled leather, and were as raven black as his hair looked against the stark blue. This matched his eyes, apparently.

He wanted to see the land, the palace, where Loki had grown up. It was nothing compared to Heaven, but it was beautiful in its own way, and Castiel looked every which way he could as he followed, just half a step behind the prince at all times--respectful. Here they were then, standing before the last door while two axe-weilding guards moved in to open it, and he cast one last glance at his lover and companion.
]

I will try my best [ He promised, before taking a deep breath and turning back toward the door. It opened in front of them, and at once the spirit of the place fell upon them. ]

[Loki thought Castiel looked far more appropriate in his new outfit than the bland clothing he always wore before. He could have been a prince in his own right, an image that Loki hoped would help strengthen Odin's opinion of the angel. How could he have presented him to the All-Father dressed as he had been? That wouldn't have been respectful at all.

As the guards opened the heavy doors to the throne room, he took a single step back so that the two of them would be walking beside one another and offered a small, reassuring smile. Up ahead their names were announced, and Loki nodded forward indicating it was time to step into the vast chamber ahead.

Stepping closer to the throne, he bowed down before his father in deference and hoped Castiel would do the same. Odin's expression was particular stoic, though Loki could read obvious displeasure from his body language. That was to be expected; this entire event had been sprung on him with very little warning.]

Father. May I introduce Castiel, an angel of Heaven and my, um.

[He glanced sideways at Cas, biting his bottom lip briefly to hold back a laugh as he tried to think of an appropriate descriptor. It hardly mattered since Odin already knew what he meant regardless of what he might say. Still.] My dear companion.

His companion, [ Castiel finished, at the same time. The word was direct, confident, and a good effort at holding his nerve considering the way that Odin was looking at him like he was going to cut him in half right there in the throne room. ]

It's my pleasure to find myself in your esteemed presence, your majesty.

[ He was doing his best, frankly, but it didn't do him any good. Odin gestured to his soldiers, and they stepped in, flanking Castiel and edging him to a safer distance from his son. Thor stepped forward, boldly:

"Allow me to dispatch him for you."

As though that was ever the point. The guards warded Thor off as much as Odin, stepping in the way and earning an uncertain laugh from Loki's brother. Castiel tipped his head, patiently, frowning.
]

I thought I was a guest here? Don't you have rules about the treatment of guests in Asgard?

[Loki rose to his feet, needless to say mortified by the way his father and brother were reacting to Castiel. Had this been the plan the whole time? The guards were moving in on him as if he was a threat, cutting them off from one another.

Had he made a terrible mistake bringing Cas here after all? Or could he fix a misunderstanding?]

Father! He is my guest!

[Loki pushed aside the nearest guard, only to find himself restrained by a powerful hand on his arm. Thor. He was going to have words with him later.

Odin rose from his throne, Gungnir in hand. One of the guards took the cue and approached Castiel, grabbing his wrists and forcing a pair of angel proof cuffs on them. Loki's eyes widened with alarm as he struggled to free himself from Thor's iron grip. This was outrageous! He opened his mouth to protest when his father spoke up.

"I do not know what you are planning with my son, angel, but you can be certain I will find out."]

[ If Dean escaped, then it was because Lucifer wanted him to, but he kept the hunter under close scrutiny. He'd been banished halfway around the globe, but there were demons on guard around the house. They kept a safe distance, following Dean, and Lucifer watched him through them.

The world he escaped to wasn't in great shape. The boys had stopped the virus, but the battle? The battle ripped the world apart from one side to the other, but Lucifer had chosen to leave Dean in a spot that they'd already fried. The people had scattered - fled - and there was nothing but a wasteland left behind, through which Dean could wander, find food, curl up in the dark for the night while once domestic dogs ran down the streets.

It would leave him unsettled, exhausted, lonely, wondering what had become of the world. That was enough. Lucifer left Dean for eight days, long enough for him to walk a hundred miles, get hungry, find food, get cold. Then he came to him, appeared in the morning in the street, directly in Dean's path. By now he must be armed, but Dean could empty his whole clip on him and do no good. Time was up, though. They were getting back to their game.

[It had been a whole new realm of torture for Dean this last week or so. He'd starving, tired, afraid, and lost. He's walked over 100 miles trying to reach the bunker. If he can make it there he might be able to regroup...or at least get a decent nights sleep for once.

So far he'd seen no one. Not a single person. He'd had to raid a sporting goods store for a gun and some ammo in order to fend off the dogs that grew bolder with every passing day. It truly was the end of the world.

His only comfort so far was he'd seen not a single trace of Lucifer or any other demons. He hoped it stayed that way. He'd finished a meager meal of an apple and some crackers he'd found at a minimart, most of the food already scavenged by animals or worse. It would be best to get as much walking in before dark. When twilight falls he would need to find a place to hide and sleep for the night. In the dark it wasn't safe to keep walking. No, better to be indoors and protected as much as possible.

It was still morning though, so he tugged on his coat and started walking. He made it about 20 yards before his eyes landed on the form of his brother. Lucifer. He'd been found. He stilled instantly as panic tried to work its way into his mind. He needed to remain calm or this showdown was already won.

As if there was anything in Dean's future but slow torture. That was the thing about slow torture, it went slowly, it hurt, ached, because it counted on the fact that just when you thought you'd gotten away, it turned out that you were a hamster spinning its wheel the whole time.

Lucifer was a master of torture that way; he knew what he was doing, and because he had Sam all to himself, he knew what Dean was most fragile against, what would hurt him the most.

Seeing all this destruction? Seeing what losing had caused? Thinking he was free, just making it to something so he could start trying to fix this, only to find that he was right back where he started? That was all much worse than lead pipes and hot pokers.

Lucifer squared himself off, smiling slowly.

"You can make this easier on yourself--come over here, kneel at my feet..."

Dean didn't move for a long moment. His eyes welled with tears because normally the sight before him would be cause for joy...but now...only pain. To see his brother reduced to a meat suit for a dick of an archangel was heartbreaking for him. His grip in his shotgun increased as he thought, trying to figure out what to do. If Lucifer had access to all of Sam's memories he knew that Dean would not give in without exhausting every single possibility to escape. Even then he may not fully surrender.

"No." Dean said simply. He had to bite his lip to hold back what he really wanted to say. Of course, he should realize that Lucifer can probably read it in his mind. His eyes flicked from side to side trying to assess quickly what might make a good escape plan. He could banish him again if he could just get somewhere long enough to draw the sigil.

"Really? Well, never let it be said that you're a man who makes clever choices, Dean, but then--that is what got us into this situation in the first place, isn't it?"

He stepped forward. There was no room for escape. There was nowhere to go. As long as he held Dean's gaze... Oh, he could try to run, but Lucifer could fly, and the fact that he'd put any room between them was a courtesy to the westerns that Dean was so fond of, and nothing more. This was his high noon, his last ditch attempt, the time when he ate dirt.

Another step.

"Come on, do it. Shoot me. Shoot Sammy in the head. I know you want to."
